Solving Courts
The National Problem Solving Court Institute (NPSCI) [the professional
services arm of the Canadian Association of Drug Treatment Court Professionals
(CADTCP) ] and the Organisation of American States are pleased to announce
the 4th International Conference on Problem Solving Courts and Innovative
Approaches to Justice at the Sheraton Hotel, Toronto, Ontario from February
29 to March 2, 2012.
This is Canada’s most comprehensive multidisciplinary conference on
Problem Solving Courts and Innovative approaches to justice. Social Problems
such as drug and gambling addiction, substance abuse, mental illness, family
dysfunction and homelessness have resulted in recurring illegal behaviour
with deleterious consequences to society. This has led to the evolution
of Problem Solving Courts.
The conference will feature national and international experts who will
discuss several innovative approaches to justice and treatment including
the composition, method of operation, challenges, best practices and outcomes
in Problem Solving Courts such as Drug Treatment, Mental Health, Gambling
Treatment, Homelessness, Aboriginal Programs, Youth Courts, Gang Violence,
Domestic Violence and Community Courts.
